About Andreia

Veterinary Surgeon and Entrepreneur

Andreia graduated in Portugal and has been working in Scotland since 2015. She has worked in a variety of clinical roles, from mixed to referral, and she’s crazy about cats and horses. She has been working with overseas colleagues since 2017.

Andreia Dias – My Story

I became a vet because I was passionate about animals, horses in particular. The choice of moving to the UK was not a strategic choice, but I thought to make the best out of the experience. It wasn’t easy! I made some mistakes that cost me time and money, and I wasn’t prepared for what I was going to face. I went from a completely inexperienced vet that had never put a catheter in a dog to a competent vet because of two main factors: one, I was very lucky with my first job; two, I had the right mindset to grow, so I was able to see what I had accomplished instead of what I couldn’t do.

But it wasn’t all flowers and rainbows. The profession is demanding and I was coming to the understanding that clinical work wasn’t my true passion. I diverted into feline behaviour, for which I now hold an Advanced Certificate, and built UK VetMove.

My mission with UK VetMove is to give every overseas vet the opportunity to create the life and career they want in UK clinical practice and enable them to work happy.

Why Work With Me?

Hey, I’m just a girl crazy about horses and cats… But having gone through the challenges of moving to the UK and having friends going through the same, I realised how lonely and difficult the journey can be. It’s already hard enough to be a vet! Since 2017, I have helped dozens of vets in finding a job that they really want and dealing with the hardships of the job, feeling confident and in control of their career.

How We Can Work Together

Career Paths, Job Applications and Referrals – knowing what you want, what is available in the UK and how to get it is necessary for you to get the right job and make sure your relocation is helping you achieve success, not doing the opposite.

Having the right advice is key to avoid the wrong job! Take a free career session with me.

I help with the relocation to the UK

No one tells you about what you need to do to avoid the stresses of the move and a big dent in your relocation budget – except us!

You want to make sure that relocating is the right decision and that you are not wasting your well-earned money and going through overwhelming stress. Join your free career development session to know how.

I help with adaptation to UK practice and culture

Unlike what you may think, failure to adjust to the new culture is the number one reason for vets to return to their home country earlier than they planned and without having achieved what they were aiming for.

You want to make sure you’re not wasting your time and mental health!
